Oh.

We were driving to the gym in the rain when we passed a man walking to work. By the time we both saw him, it was too late to stop and the street was too busy to easily turn around. This was the conversation:

T: We should have picked up that man.
C: I know . . . I didn't see him in time.
T: I feel bad.
C: Well, technically, we don't have to pick him up until two religious leaders have passed him by first.
T: Um . . . I think that's us.

I was dialing the phone to return a call as I read through this last entry. Almost couldn't leave a message when I snorted with laughter! I agree with Jim, you too are crazy funny--and you must be "taking care" of even your tiredness to stay so keen-witted.
