Smarter than her mother

Boo and her friends are getting ready to start high school, including buying new clothes and shoes. Her friend emailed her the question, "What brands do you wear?" Boo emailed her friend, "I don't wear brands; I wear clothes."

That's one of the things I've always liked about Boo. WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get. I wish I could come up with stuff that clever.

You must have been so proud! I wish I had been that smart when I was starting 9th grade.

So rarely could I claim to be "inspired" by anything I've read on the Internet, but reading your blog is actually making me consider starting my own. My resistance to it is much the same as your was: how narcissistic do you have to be to think someone would read your journal, and what in the world would you talk about? Well, I've LOVED reading your posts, so I guess that answers the first question. However, I'm not quite sure how to handle the second one. My mental meanderings hardly seem like something that would seem interesting to anyone else. Maybe I'll just write it and not tell anyone about it, and then in thirty years I'll send the link to my grandkids and let them see what Grampa was thinking about all this time.

The idea that we will pass down links to our grandchildren instead of yellowed papers cracks me up! Blogging has been a huge blessing for me; I'd completely forgotten how much I love to write. I don't get to post half the things I think about but just thinking about them through this lens helps me tremendously. I recommend it! And I'll read your blog :)
